The FAF is the independent, private-sector organization responsible for oversight of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).The new website provides visitors an easy-to-navigate portal to important information about the FAF and its activities. The home page highlights “Recent News and Activities,” as well as links to pages that cover the FAF’s organizational overview, financial information, and corporate governance, including biographies and committee roles of each member of the FAF’s Board of Trustees.
“The FAF has an important role in protecting the independence and integrity of the U.S. standard-setting process, one that goes beyond the administrative oversight of the FASB and the GASB,” said FAF President and Chief Executive Officer Teresa S. Polley. “We launched the FAF website to help increase awareness of our mission and activities and, by extension, engage more of our constituents in the standard-setting process.”
