FAF STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF
IFRS FOUNDATION VICE CHAIRMAN HARVEY J. GOLDSCHMID


Norwalk, CT—February 12, 2015—The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) today issued the following statement in response to the passing of IFRS Foundation Vice Chairman Harvey J. Goldschmid:

The members and staff of the Financial Accounting Foundation, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Harvey J. Goldschmid.

Harvey will be remembered as a visionary whose long and distinguished career in government, academia, and law helped elevate the quality and comparability of financial reporting worldwide. In his roles as a commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, co-chair of the IASB/FASB Financial Advisory Crisis Group, and, most recently, vice chairman of the IFRS Foundation, Harvey championed transparency and integrity at all levels of the U.S. and global capital markets. His commitment to standard-setting excellence was a hallmark of his years of public service. He will be missed by all who knew him.
