Statement of Kathleen Casey, Chair of the Financial Accounting Foundation, Concerning FAF Trustee David Villa
Norwalk, CT—February 16, 2021—The Trustees, Board Members and staff of the Financial Accounting Foundation, the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board mourn the untimely passing of FAF Trustee David Villa.
David began his service on the FAF Board of Trustees in January 2018, and during his tenure with us served with distinction on the Audit and Finance Committee and the Compensation Committee. His exceptional intelligence made working with him a true pleasure. His comments and questions during our meetings were incisive, strategic, and always helpful. As a person, he was warm, thoughtful, and kind.
We extend our condolences to David’s family and to his wide circle of friends, coworkers and admirers. We feel blessed to have known and worked with David, and we will miss his wise presence in the months and years ahead.
