W. Daniel Ebersole
Vice Chair, Board of Trustees

Prior to joining the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ebersole enjoyed a distinguished 30-year career with the state of Georgia, where he served in a number of leadership positions. Prior to his most recent position as senior advisor to the lieutenant governor, he was the state treasurer, where he was responsible for the receipt, investment, accounting, and disbursement of state general, trust and custodial funds, and certain federal funds. He served on the Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission, the State Properties Commission, the Georgia Building Authority, and the Sheriffs’ Retirement Fund, and was a member of the boards of the $63 billion Teacher’s and Employees’ Retirement Systems and chair of their Investment committees.
Mr. Ebersole is a past president of the National Association of State Treasurers and received the Jesse M. Unruh Award in 2003 and the Harlan Boyles-Edward T. Alter Award in 2009. He is a past president of the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers, and Treasurers and received the President’s Award in 2001. Mr. Ebersole was also a member of the Finance and International Committees of the Council of State Governments, chairing its investment subcommittee. He was a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council from 2003 to 2011, and served as its chairman from 2008 to 2011.
The Georgia General Assembly recognized Mr. Ebersole in 2010 with Senate Resolution 1339.
Mr. Ebersole earned a B.A in political science from Messiah College and an M.S. from Georgia State University where he received the Graduate Academic Honor Award and Outstanding Merit Award.
