Todd L. Cranford, Head of Government Affairs & External Relations
Todd L. Cranford has served as head of government affairs & external relations for the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) since 2015. Based in Washington, DC, Mr. Cranford advances the collective missions of the FASB, GASB and FAF through effective engagement with policymakers and stakeholders. This engagement includes advocating on behalf of the FASB, GASB and FAF as well as educating policymakers and stakeholders regarding the value of an independent accounting standard-setting process to investors and our capital markets.
Mr. Cranford brings more than 20 years of broad public policy and regulatory experience to this role, including having served as the director of government affairs for the Certified Planner Board, Inc. and as a senior counsel at Patton Boggs LLP (now Squire Patton Boggs), where he developed and executed public policy strategies for a variety of clients in the financial services sector. Earlier in his career, he served as a senior counsel to the House Committee on Financial Services and as a senior counsel in the enforcement division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He also served as a judicial law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Anna Diggs Taylor.
Mr. Cranford earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his law degree from the Columbia Law School.
