
Mr. Dowd is President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairfield Maxwell, LTD., a privately-owned industrial holding company which, together with its subsidiaries, is engaged in chemical shipping, energy services businesses and other companies. Previously, he served as Treasurer of The Volcker Alliance, and worked as chief of staff and special assistant under Paul A. Volcker when he was Chairman of the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. He also serves on the boards of directors for Magseis Fairfield ASA, an international oil and gas services company, as well as Metal Powder Products Company, and Dejana Industries, portfolio companies of Mill Point Capital.
He previously served on the boards of Hostess Brands, Inc. and most of the portfolio companies of Charter Oak Partners. Earlier in his career, he worked as a senior advisor for Linx Partners LLC and served as a Managing General Partner of Charter Oak Capital, a private equity fund.
Prior to joining Charter Oak, he was an investment banker with James D. Wolfensohn, Inc.
Mr. Dowd began his career as an officer in the United States Army in the First Cavalry Division.
Mr. Dowd graduated with distinction from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
